The Portrait of a Genuine Christian

Ah! The sweet taste of revenge!!! There is something viscerally satisfying about it! But are we to be people of revenge? As Christians, we are called to love and serve others, even those who mistreat us.
In Romans 12, Paul gives practical instructions on how to respond to evil with love. He instructs the church at Rome to trust a good God with the evil around them and instead of railing against the evil, confront it with good actions. In our lesson today, Paul teaches the importance of overcoming evil with good, forgiving those who wrong us, and not taking revenge, but rather leaving justice to God.
A genuine Christian defends themselves less and does more good! Their focus isn’t on themselves as much as it is on God and others.
