A study in the Book of Acts.

Our goal will be to understand and apply how the Holy Spirit empowered the early church to proclaim a Risen Savior.

The Book of Acts is a historical narrative in the New Testament that provides an account of the early Christian church after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The book contains 28 chapters, divided into two main parts. The first part (chapters 1-12) focuses mainly on the activities of Peter and the apostles in Jerusalem. The second part (chapters 13-28) describes the missionary journeys of Paul and his companions, which took them to various cities throughout the Mediterranean region, including Antioch, Philippi, Athens, Corinth, and Rome.

Throughout the book, various themes are explored, including the role of the Holy Spirit in the growth of the church, the importance of prayer and community, the persecution faced by early Christians, and the spread of the gospel message to non-Jewish peoples. The Book of Acts provides a valuable historical account of the early Christian church and its growth, as well as important theological insights into the nature and mission of the church.

Idols of the Heart.

This class will explore what the Bible has to say about the natural world and how Christians should relate to it.

Proverbs 4:23 says "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it".

How are you doing with that?  Is your walk with God alive and vibrant or has it become stagnant?  Do you desire to grow in your love for God and others but feel like something is holding you back?

We will be using the book Gospel Treason as a tool to dig into the scriptures and do a thorough examination of our hearts where hidden idols can secretly take up residence, wreaking havoc and robbing God of the worship He alone deserves.

We are not talking theory here -- This class will be intensely practical, what the author calls "functional theology".  Idol smashing is hard work -- not for the faint of heart, but oh so rewarding!!

What are equipping classes and why should I join?

Equipping Classes are intentionally designed to equip Christians for the work of ministry and for building up the body of Christ to greater maturity (Ephesians 4:12-16).
The desire for our Equipping Classes is for everyone to:
  • grow deeper in their understanding of the Gospel (Colossians 2:6-7)
  • learn to interpret and apply the Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Biblically engage in culture (Matthew 16:3; John 17:18)
  • be transformed in our daily living (Romans 12:1-2)
No matter if you are a new believer or a seasoned saint, we encourage everyone to attend an equipping class and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.
