What is Biblical Justice? (Every Bible Verse)

Tim Arndt

I provide every Bible verse that uses the word “justice” below as well as links to the verses so you can do further contextual research on individual passages.

I was inspired to do this word study because of the current debates among Christians on how to understand social justice and Biblical justice.

While I do not comment on those debates in this article, my hope is for all to look to the Scriptures and come to a better understanding of justice.

It only makes sense.

If we want to understand what “Biblical justice” is, we should start by looking to the Bible.

The list below shows facts about justice based on observations in my word study, I also share some big-picture takeaways, and then you can see the entire list of Bible passages at the bottom of this article.

God can be known through his son Jesus Christ who took the curses we justly deserve and gives us the blessings he justly deserves.

He is calling you to come to him. Listen to his call and go:

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” -Matthew 11:28-29
